Throughout history, there have been moments when the progress of technology has taken great steps forward, when a combination of factors lead to breakthroughs that changed how we live our lives. Artificial Intelligence represents the latest leap: data-driven technologies will transform our societies and underpin our future prosperity by quickly solving complex problems, and in so doing, raising productivity and providing better services in less time.

This initiative, jointly organised by the UK Science and Innovation Network and the British Embassy in Rome in collaboration with The Innovation Group, will create an opportunity to discuss and compare approaches to the challenges which governments face – providing the appropriate level of investment in research and innovation, supporting business in the adoption of new technologies, ensuring an ethical use of data and making sure that our society as a whole benefit from AI by helping people develop the skills needed for the jobs of the future. Amongst the speakers, the UK Government Office for Artificial Intelligence, the Data Ethics Team of the Department for Culture Media and Sports, Italian Government senior officials and Italian and British research and technology organizations.
