Born in Rome, Italy, in 1970 Luca is a Mechanical Engineer with a secondary school background focused on humanities.
Married, with one son, he started working in the electric utilities sector in 1996 and, despite the many different jobs he’s been involved in, he still works in this sector today.
Currently Luca is in charge of System Strategy department at Terna, the Italian Transmission System Operator, managing the long term scenario development of the power system and the market adequacy assessment in order to support Company’s regulated business.
His previous experience, mainly in the Enel Group with a few years interval in Tirreno Power, can be summarized as follows:
- 4 years as maintenance manager in a large coal fired power plant in Liguria (Italy)
- 4 years as energy manager of a power generation fleet including 3 large fossil fired power plants and 17 hydro plants
- 10 years in Enel Energia, the retail branch of Enel Group in Italy, covering different roles from portfolio management up to Marketing Director.
