Nick Fernando is a Policy and Research Manager at the Digital Catapult. Nick works closely with innovative high growth potential start-ups and scale-ups working with emerging technologies in the UK, to help map and build a better understanding of their business and technical barriers to growth. This knowledge helps Digital Catapult and UK Government policy makers to design interventions that drive the early adoption of advanced digital technologies by industry.
He has co-authored and contributed to numerous research and white papers, designed national scale innovation and acceleration programmes and prepared ecosystem maps of these technologies and their impact on the UK economy.
His focus has primarily been on the Internet of Things and its use of data, working closely with the UK’s national IoT Programme – IoTUK, Low Powered Wide Area Networks and Digital Catapult’s Things Connected network and 5G where he was responsible for mapping the emerging ecosystem in the UK
